The German Design Council opens the Iconic Awards 2017, the international architecture and design competition with deadline entry until May 18, 2017.
The German Design Council states that the Iconic Awards pays honor to interdisciplinary work in a competition targeting architecture and design. To Andrej Kupetz, chief executive officer of the German Design Council, he underlines the idea by expressing that “the holistic approach to design and its quality often reveal themselves only in a larger context”.
Architects and designers are called to enter their projects until May 18 of 2017, the deadline. There are five main categories under the competition: architecture, interior design, product design, communication and concept. These five categories have corresponding subcategories.
This year’s edition would have a new feature which is the support programmes for young architects and designers just embarking upon their careers. Gathering the “Young Architecture” support programme plus the endowed special prize “Young Architects of the Year”, the competition is providing start-up assistance.
